Day 1

Day 1-Introduce yourself, recent picture, 15 interesting facts

I'm Katie. I'm in love with Jesus. I'm in college. I'm 22 years old.

1. I want Jesus to be the most important thing in my life. I wish He was, but I'm human and I get lost in myself so many times. I strive for Him to hold that place. He deserves it. He demands it.

2. I've been in college for about 3.5 years now and I have one year left. I'm going to school to get a job. I hope to enjoy that job, but the job I want more than any other in this world is to be a wife and mom. I want to bless my husband and children with my love for Christ, my affection, my joy, anything wonderful that a wife and mom was made to be, I want to be that.

3. With #2 being said, I do have a career, I'm playing with. And when I say play with, I mean dream about. I want to be a Bible study writer. I'd like it to be for teenagers and women. (Obviously, I would write different ones for each group). I would also like to speak and teach, at churches, camps, DNOWs, wherever. There are times when I am sitting in a service and I go into my own little world and start formulating a talk in my head. Or, I'll be reading a verse or Bible study and do the same thing. I remember when I was little, I would sit in front of my mirror and give a talk. To myself. I don't know if that will ever happen, but it would be nice. Also I want to write a novel or two about my grandparents and their lives and love story.

4. I don't mind being made fun of for something I've said or done, within reason. However, when someone makes a woman joke, blonde joke, or something along those lines, I get an in-house movie playing in my brain, of a cartoon character with steam coming out his ears and the train whistling blowing. I feel like it's someone rudely putting me "in my place" or degrading me. I don't appreciate it. I could go on a rampage about this. I'll refrain.

5. I'm pathetic when I'm sick. Really. I sat in my bed or on the couch and do nothing. I'm not strong when I'm physical sick or injured. I feel like it's one my human fallacies.

6.I don't call nutcrackers, nutcrackers. To me and my family, they are crackernuts. Why? When I was little, we went to Fantasy in Lights and there are two nutcrackers at the very beginning and I said, "wow, Lisa would LOVE those crackernuts." And I've never lived it down.

7. I love nicknames. They seem more personal, filled with love, and they have meaning to you and that other person only. For example, my sister calls me Peanut and has since day 1. No one else calls me that and I would not let anyone. My brothers call me Kid. I love it, I have more but those are two examples. Also, people never use nicknames when they are upset with you. They will throw down your name to get your attention, but never nicknames.

8. I'm cold 99% on the time. My hands and feet feel cold all the time. Ask my boyfriend. He has to hold my frozen hands a lot.

9. I have a niece named after me, but her name is spelled with a "C."

10. I love Julia Child, she's awesome.

11. I love to cook. I dream of having amazing dinner parties with friends when I am married. I'll try most new recipes. I'm also determined to try pretty much every recipe in "The Art of French Cooking" by Julia Child, minus the aspic section. I'm just not sure about that section. All I can think about is jellied meat, GOO!

12. I have two different colored eyes. Green and brown. And it makes me laugh when people ask. I generally pretend to be surprised and act like I didn’t,

13. I'm a linear thinker, therefore, I plan things, organize them, and have a set way of doing things. I like who I am, most of the time, but being that I live in a world with other people, love people, love certain people, there are times I need to change the way I do things, compromise, or do something someone else's way.

14. I want to be a good dancer. Not like professional or anything. Just when I song comes on, I have some awesome moves. It would also be nice to be able to swing dance, waltz, salsa, etc. I'm not sure that will ever happen. It's not going to stop me from doing my verse of dancing, which I'm sure makes me look like an idiot.

15. I love kids, especially babies. I work in the newborn nursery at my church so I can get my "baby fix." Nothing like having a baby cuddle up in your arms and sleep. Or hear them laugh. Makes me smile thinking about it.

And the picture of me. It was taken at a corn maze before Halloween and they had adorable baby cows, which I loved. Also, the cow and I match. Just sayin'.
