My momma

This is my momma.

She is a hoot. She also thinks she's really funny a lot of the time too. She loves to laugh.  I think the world of her.  She is truly my best friend. She tells it to me straight when I need to hear it. She holds me and hurts when I hurt or cry.  She can be silly. She can be serious. She is sweet and feisty. She's strong and loving.

This Mother's Day was unique because it was the last one that we will be living together. I was pretty emotional about the whole day. And basically wanted her all to myself all day. It didn't happen because our lives are crazy right now with us moving in a few weeks and responsibilities and people and such.

I love my mom, more than anyone on this earth. No one gets me like she does. No one can replace who my momma is to me.  She is so much to me. I can only pray that my daughters love and look up to me like I do her.

I'm 22 years old. I've wanted to live on my own since I graduated high school, but it  was never really possible. Now I don't have a choice. Although I'm excited about my independence. She's moving away. About 500 miles away. We are both having a hard time with it. It wouldn't be as hard if I was just moving out, but life throws you curve balls and you just gotta swing.

So today, here's to the greatest mom I've ever known. To the mom who adopts my friends as her own. To the mom who let me crawl in her bed when I had nightmares. Who still calls me "her baby". To the mom, who, single-handedly raised me. To the mom who told me about Jesus. To the mom who took care of me when I was sick. To the mom who taught me how to cook and love it.  To the mom who always did my hair.  To the mom who means the world to me.  To the mom who made me her best friend.

I would do anything for you, Mom. I have life because you wanted me. I survived life, because you helped carry me. I love life because I have Life, and you introduced me to Him.

You'll always be my best friend. I'll always be your baby.
I love you, Momma, always no matter what or who.

Day 26

Picture of my family

My mom and I are a little family of our own.

It's from 2008, but this is my big family.

Day 20

Nicknames.
Let me start off by saying, I love nicknames.
If we want to get technical, my first name is Kathryn and therefore, Katie is a nickname.
My sister, since before I was born, has called me Peanut.
My brother, Jay, and my brother-in-law, Kevin, call me Kid or Kiddo.
My mom and her two best friends (Momma Chris and Daddy Bruce) call me the Princess.
My niece Catie calls me Autie (It's a mix of Aunt and Katie).
For a long time and ever so often now, Kacie and Kelli call me Aunt Sister, because they really want me as a big sister.
That's all the nicknames I am currently still called.

Day 4

Day 4-Your parents
Well it's just me and Mom.

This picture is 3 years old. It was taken at my senior prom. But I just think it's a great picture of us.

I love my mom more than anyone in the world. She is my best friend. She makes me laugh with her cheesy jokes and puns. When I need her, she is there. We compliment each other in a lot of ways, especially in the kitchen, we're unstoppable. I'm a lot like her in many ways. She's a leader and so am I. She's very matter of fact, as am I. I get my blonde hair and green eye from her. She's the strongest person I know. She's been through so much in her life and she's survived all of it. More than surviving though, she's taken those experiences and allowed God to use them. She loves the Lord. And although she is not a cryer, she will cry over talking about the Lord. Not sad tears, but awe-filled, joyous tears. She loves her kids and they are a huge priority even though we are all grown. Also, watch out if you mess with her kids or grands, she'll get you. I could give you a few names for proof if you'd like! :) We still need our Mommy every once and a while. Truth is we would be lost without her. She's the glue to what makes our family a good family. She's selfless, putting others before her so much of the time. I know her better than almost anyone because it's just been the two of us for a long time. My friends love her, so much so they will go out of their way to say hey to her or ask if she will be at a party I'm throwing. She's basically the best mom ever, but I'm biased.
She's not perfect, by any means, but she's mine and I would have her any other way. Love you Momma!
